Canyon Lands: Inspired by "The Road", Cormack McCarthy
Sometimes I am inspired by some external event. The experience causes me to “see the world” in some different way. This is what happened recently. While in British Columbia I read the book “The Road”, by
Cormack McCarthy. Very powerful book. Not only did it cause me to feel new and different emotions as I read it, it caused me to see the world around me in some different ways. As I drove back from BC to Dallas I was compelled to spend time in the Moab Utah area in order to create some Very different (at least different for me) images of the stark landscape of that region. As usual with my style of making photographs, I simply followed my feelings and as a result, all the images I made were digital panoramic. This is one of the images that resulted from that experience.
